Let me share a secret with you: a new little fairy has been born!
She came to Earth right before Spring and will help trees, flowers, and animals to wake up from the winter dream.

It starts from the heart. Then I make eyes, this time in deep blue color. Next, I create the head, it`s on a wooden stick. I use tools, brushes, and fingers to create a face of a little fairy. This head has one inch. After baked and sanding, I put delicate pastel moist to highlight the feature of the face.
I have connected her head with her body, added ears. In the end, I will paint one more time with heat-set paints, add freckles and a little bit more eyebrows 🙂
I will add also a lacquer to clean, brighten and shine up her blue eyes.
There is a photo with her wire and strong Cernit clay inside. That`s how my dolls look inside.

In December last year I was participating in little contest, that was publicated in Facebook. I send a photo of Anthony Cornflower and the judges liked him so much, that he was publicated in their Magazine. The January International Doll Artists Magazine is ready to purchase.
It is worth to read. It`s dedicated bouth for atists and collectors all over the world. Is it a magazine, thats shows the most beautifull art dolls that I have ever seen. It`s a sorce of tutorials, tips and tricks how to create them!

What is he made of? I will describe step by step how I made this bear. If you want, you can make such a bear with me. Finally, I also have a gift to help you create it!
First of all, I will share you a secret:
If you want your figurine to look like a real animal, it is important to know the anatomy, how is it "build" inside.
Despite the fact that bears have thick fur, it is impossible to mask everything with it. Otherwise, if you miss the anatomy rules, instead of a teddy bear, you will get a large dog or a seal with legs!
Polar bears have an unique proportions: the small head in proportion to the entire body.
A bear silhouette is different from other pieces: while most four-legged animals walk on the toes, a bear touches the ground with its entire foot, just like a human! Therefore, it can stand steadily on its two legs!
If you have already seen how our teddy bear is built, it is time to decide about the pose you would like to choose, and whether someone or something will be sitting on the teddy bear and where, and how.
It is worth drawing: try to make a sketch in the size and pose of the figurine(s), that you want to make. My teddy bear is 15cm high and about 25cm long. He has a pose like in the picture above.
Place the braided wire on the prepared template in the places where the head, spine, and limbs are located.
Once you have the wire skeleton ready, make the head and all the paws before proceeding to the filling. Remember that after adding fur, your figure will be larger (from the size of this fur).
At this point, the teddy bear should already be in the desired pose. Make sure it doesn't tip over and stand stabile.
Then you can consider filling your figurines. There are several options for filling:
Bear that I have created is made from strong wire, the belly is filled with aluminum foil, while the neck and the part above the shoulder are strengthened with a polymer mass. This is the place where the fairy will be sitting.
Once you have the wire frame with the paws and head, fill in the center. If you chose a synthetic filling, secure it with tape or thin tights.
It's fur turn!
Here are some options to choose from:
My teddy bear has synthetic fur on the torso, limbs, and neck. It is sewn on and glued to the places where the fur touches the feet or the head. On the head and feet there is a teddy bear with a glued fuzzy little fur, that had been cut very finely before, it was almost the fluff that is used for flocking. I used white glue and in some places transparent FabriTac glue. With another figurine I used spray glue, I highly recommend it, it sticks more conveniently 🙂
Finally, I added separately made of fur ears and a tail. I sewed them tight so that they would stick well. At the end I hammered a nail without a shank in a place prepared for this, it is needed for stabilizing the figurine that will be sitting on the bear.
That how it went! The White Bear is ready. Obviously, this is not a 100% recipe for a successful figurine, not one only way. There are plenty of options to do this! It's best to start and the rest goes by itself 🙂

Suddenly the sky become dark, and was lightened up by a silver star! It was moving very fast towards them!
-Quick! Turn your magic into this star, it`s falling straight on us!!! - The bear shouted.
The fairies immediately turn frozen sparkling dust into the star. But, it shined brighter, and even accelerated towards them, and the blue sparkling flowers felt from the sky into the snow, just right in front of a bear!
-It`s gonna hit us if we won`t do anything! Let's try one more! White Bear you have to help us, our magic is too weak to stop her! - the fairies flew chaotically and screamed. The star was closer and closer!
The Bear stood on his two feet and turn the strong icy wind into a star. The magic wind has connected with snow fairies magic and hit right into the falling star.
The star stopped for a while, and then turned into a blue flare, accelerated, and felt straight in front of them! Star hit the snowy ground just in front of them and crashed into millions of dazzling blue sparks! The glow flashed and among the flashing sparkles, they saw clear icy blue eyes emerged and blinked!
Meanwhile, a small figure of a tiny fairy child emerged from the frosty mist. She had blue hair, and a shimmering blue dress resembling blue flower petals. She was looking like a beautiful blue flower!

-Oh it`s a Fairy!- Little fairies sighed. – A beautiful icy winter Fairy! A Blue Snowflake! – They clapped. The bear stared surprised in silence. He was so surprised to see such an amazing spectacle!
– Oh there you are! – she said to White Bear, and her voice was like a winter song. – I was looking for you everywhere! We have to help the Winter Queen! – Said Blue Snowflake. – Only your magic can save her! And I will help you, my King! -But we have to be very quick! I`ll explain everything to you on the way! - said the little blue child from the stars. We have to find her! We have to go quickly, unless we will lost her forever!
-Wait, wait! We are going with you! – shouted the Little Snow Fairies.
The Blue Snowflake jump to the Bear and show him the way. The little fairies went with them.

The Fairies started to asking bear why did he call them, what was the reason for their meeting. The Bear stopped in the middle of the frozen meadow and ask:
-There is such a lovely snowing evening. Could you create a blue snowflake for me?
The Fairies were a bit surprised, why this bear needs a blue snowflake in the middle of snowy winter, but they tried to fulfilled his wish. The Fairies turn five times and the ground around was covered with sparkling beautiful snowflakes dancing in the air!
The Bear wathed them very carefully and said:
-Thank you my dear! They are beautiful, but I didn`t meant ordinary snowflakes...
- Why? What`s wrong with them? They are not just ordinary snowflakes, see, every each is different, and aren`t they a little bit blue? - Said the Blue Fairy.
- Well, nothing is wrong with them, they are a winter snowflakes. I meant a Blue Snowflake, that looks like a beautifull blue flower. - said the Bear.
-A blue flower? - asked the Purple Fairy. - But we are not for blooming flowers, we are supposed to freeze them. If you want to have a flower, you should wait for spring and ask the Flower Fairies...
-Oh no my dearest. Flower Fairies won`t help me.- Said Bear. - I need to have a frozen icy blue flower, a Blue Snowflake.
Purple Fairy shrugged and ask:
-But, why do you need this? Isn't it ridiculous?
-The Old Wiseman said, there is Blue Snowflake made for me. He even pointed this day, this place, on this frozen meadow on a field between old forests. He tould me, that with your help I could bring her here. Will you help me?
The Fairies look at themselves and they didn`t know what to said.
-My dear Bear, this is winter real magic, that is too powerful for us. We are just tiny snow fairies... I am sorry, my dear friend... I don`t know how to do this... Maybe we should ask The Winter Queen for help?... She knows the real powerfull magic!
The Bear pondered and there was a silence around. The only icy cold wind was dancing with the snowflakes on the frozen meadow.
There is a lot of myth and legends about the white bear. My favorite is Norwegian legend about the White Bear King Valemon. It`s about the king turned into polar bears during the day and a man during the night.
In Kallispe`s story The White Bear brings the winter into White Forest.
He travels around the magic world. He has just met two little snow fairies. The little snow fairies can do a little magic.
They can create snowflakes, or paint windows with frozen patterns. They pour magic dust to snow and can make it sparkle. They can immediately turn into snowflakes or even icy wind, and not to be seen!
He was walking along the field and wonder: "I am not sure is it here, it supposed to be here, but I cannot find it. Maybe I missed it? No, no, they soon should be here, I will wait. Yes, yes, I will wait, they are always late!".

Suddenly he saw a sparkling icy fog on the hill. He stepped closer, and see sparkling makrs in two places, and from there the tree began to fall in frost.
-There you are my dearest friends! How is your celebration? Are you having fun on this frosty icy morning?- The bear asked, and from the sparkling fog, he saw a little face, smiling at him. And another face shining with a smile.
-Hello my dear friend - said the purple one- We are terribly sorry for being late! The morning was so beautiful, there were so many trees to freeze! Can you imagine how complicated it is, to freeze each tree, twig by twig?
-But, anyway: what a beautiful frosty morning!- said the blue fairy. - How nice to see you! How can we help you? Can we freeze something for you? Please, please, please, we`d love to freeze! - and she clapped her little hands.
-Yes, I have a little request for you, but first, let`s go for a walk. I will explain everything on the way. I just need to find this place, and then you will understand everything.
So they went together through the snowy hills, smiling and talking.
Winter is a beautiful time of the year, as long as it`s white and fluffy. The snow is sparkling and the ground is poured with snowflakes, slowly dancing in the air. Each one is different but beautifully designed. Doesn`t is sounds familiar?
One could think that winter is not a good time for fairies. There is cold outside, no flowers, trees are sleeping.
But… who knows?
Who turns snowflakes into magical dance? Who has painted my windows so beautifully with frosted flowers and patterns?
A while ago I have read a wonderful "Legend of the Snow fairies" by Cynthia Jeub.
She writes that winter is a time when snow fairies are celebrating. When they are dancing the air become gets colder, and swirling snowflakes appear around.
Isn`t it worth to imagine?
